Carson tweeted his support, as did former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who hinted the party’s image, along with ABC News’, might otherwise suffer a hit.
Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina demanded an invitation to this Saturday’s Republican Party New Hampshire debate that will be aired on ABC.
To qualify for Saturday’s debate, candidates must have placed in the top three in the Iowa caucuses or place in the top six in an average of recent national polls or in the top six in an average of recent polls on New Hampshire.
Gilmore sent a letter to ABC News Thursday calling himself more qualified than Fiorina to debate, and insisted that “especially” if the network modifies “requirements” for Fiorina, it should modify them for all candidates.
When CNN announced the lineup for the second Republican debate last summer, it had to figure out how to split up the huge field into two groups. And in this case it’s a debate for Republican primary voters.
While I have yet to endorse in the GOP presidential race, what has so impressed me about Carly is the drive, persistence and consistency she has shown throughout the entire process.
Herald Radio’s host interjected to confirm that indeed some of Fiorina’s Republican rivals lobbied against her inclusion in the debate.
Fiorina argued that her seventh-place finish in the Iowa caucuses – better than Kasich and Christie – should have earned her a spot on stage, according to The Washington Times. For the first time this cycle, there will only be one, main debate-no undercard. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., and former Ark.
The debate began shortly after North Korea defied global warnings and launched a long-range rocket that the United Nations and others call a cover for a banned test of technology for a missile that could strike the US mainland.
New Hampshire voters are staunchly protective of the state’s status as home of the first presidential primary.
Fiorina: Well, it depends on who the candidate is, but certainly I give it a lot of attention.
“I’ve been telling you the game is rigged”, she wrote on her Facebook page.
Although she’s running near the bottom of the pack, Fiorina has built up good will in New Hampshire by spending roughly 50 days campaigning here.
JULIE PACE, ASSOCIATED PRESS: Well, I mean, if you go to events in New Hampshire – not Carly events – other candidates’ events – and you ask voters who they like, her name comes up so frequently.
“Hey ABC: put Carly Fiorina on the debate stage!”
The holdout was Gov. John Kasich of OH, who has been rising in New Hampshire by focusing on a more upbeat message drilled home in a hundred town hall meetings in the state.
