Media reports said Schwarzenegger had previously donated the maximum amount possible, US$2,700 (RM10,967), to Kasich’s campaign. However, while the OH governor is campaigning hard in Michigan’s primary on Tuesday, he has staked his entire campaign on the winner-take-all OH contest on 15 March, and Schwarzenegger’s endorsement added hometown credibility in addition to celebrity luster.
Schwarzenegger has not commented on any way on Donald Trump but his endorsement of Kasich comes as the Republican Party is having quite the panic attack over the spectre of a Donald Trump-topped GOP ticket in the coming fall, notes Deadline.
Henry Rosenstein, a high schooler from Dublin, Ohio, told the Guardian: “I always kind of thought Kasich has made the most sense out of the Republican candidates…”
Kasich urged his supporters to highlight his positive approach to campaigning, which avoids smearing his opponents, and which he hopes will result in victory.
Kasich is betting it all on OH, saying if he doesn’t win there, he won’t be back. Former candidate Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, released 33 years of returns.
If Kasich can actually beat Trump in MI – a big “if”… we’ll know in 48 hours – that could be, to coin a phrase, a game-changer for the GOP establishment.
Schwarzenegger says he has campaigned for Kasich since the 1980s, from his time in Congress to becoming the Ohio Governor. “He was an action hero when he went to Washington”. Arnold was seen sporting an official Kasich jacket while the presidential hopeful is wearing a custom coat that was given to him as a gift by the Terminator star.
Trump says “the Republicans are eating their own”.
Michigan’s primary is Tuesday.

Later, in Toledo, Kasich’s bus rolled into the SeaGate Convention Centre before hundreds of people munching on campaign-provided Tony Packo’s chili dogs.
