Kate and William has this year stolen the title of the world’s most perfect couple from David and Victoria Beckham and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Jessica Kwamin, who tried to commit suicide twice when she was 17, got a chance to share her experiences with the Duke and Duchess. “With this in mind, we wish to acknowledge the value we place on working alongside people with lived experience of mental health treatment and care”.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry are quickly becoming global ambassadors for mental health. Doncaster MP Rosie Winterton has given her backing to Mental Health Day, which is today.

Paul Farmer, Mind’s chief executive officer showed his appreciation for their patronage: “By putting a spotlight on mental health, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are helping us to send an important and urgent message to the world that it is time to change our attitudes about mental health problems…”

A volunteer said Cambridge couple was really “down to earth”. We know that if young people feel they can reach out for help, and receive that support, their longer term outcomes are significantly improved. They were really interested to hear about our experiences and seem to have a real passion for mental health.

I believe we made some big improvements in mental health services under the Labour government, but there is always more to do. Keep the ideas coming. Kate is said to be extremely respectful and discreet, which is important being part of a royal family.

She said: “I overdosed on pills while I was in school”.

Rather than keeping this little discussion between the pair, Prince William decided to recall this anecdote to Kate Middleton, with the insider continuing, “Incredibly, Wills had the balls to tell Kate, who’s increasingly sensitive about her sprouting gray stands, and she hit the roof over Her Majest’s hair-raising, to-dye-for decree!”
