She is also set to begin her trip by meeting with King Willem-Alexander at Villa Eikenhorst.
Kate, who studied history of art at university, will then visit the Mauritshuis in The Hague for the exhibition, At Home in Holland: Vermeer and his Contemporaries from the British Royal Collection. The 22 works featured were painted by Dutch artists and have been loaned from the British Royal Collection.
At the Gallery, Duchess Catherine will meet children and participate in their learning program, before attending a reception with museum supporters. The announcement comes as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continue to concentrate their efforts on their Heads Together initiative which they set up a year ago with Prince Harry, the aim of which is to end the stigma around mental health.
They will be joined by counterparts from two of the Duchess’ UK charities – the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families, a leading charity in the research, teaching and the provision of care for children and young people with mental health issues, and Action on Addiction.
Lastly, the young royal will stop by Rotterdam to visit Bouwkeet, a fledgling initiative focused on bolstering the community in an economically deprived area.
Local disadvantaged residents are encouraged to “pay” for services by sharing their skills with others. The centre works with locals schools to bring children into workshops, where they learn to create their own projects.
The Duchess of Cambridge is set to carry out her first solo tour overseas when she visits the Netherlands next month.
