We had a feeling that there could be some tremendous “The Big Bang Theory” scoop from the show’s writers’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and lo and behold, the group came through! “We’re super excited that Katey Sagal will be playing Penny’s mom”.

Hopefully, we get to meet even more family members as we go throughout the upcoming season.
For those of you who did watch ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules, you’ll know that Katey Sagal also played the mother to Kaley Cuoco’s character, Bridget, so it’s definitely a special one. McBrayer has proved that he can handle just about every kind of comedy; The Big Bang Theory should be no exception. We’re not sure how much time the series has left on the air, so we’d love to see as many notable faces as possible before then. “There’s been a few thoughts that have floated around, but we don’t really know how long the show’s going to go on for, so I think it’s a little early for us to be thinking about an end point”.
Molaro also said that Jack McBrayer of 30 Rock fame has been cast as Penny’s brother.

Both Sagal and McBrayer will appear in the Season 10 premiere, airing Monday, Sept. 19 at 8/7c. It will return to its Thursday evening timeslot in October when Thursday Night Football comes to a close on the network.
