Katherine Jackson Testifies in Courtroom
Michael Jackson, the king of pop, may have died three years ago in 2009 but his saga continues in the court case of his wrongful death. On Monday this week, the matriarch, Katherine Jackson was summoned to the courtroom for her version of the events that lead to the death of the most popular singer and performer of all times. Interestingly, it is Katherine who has filed a lawsuit against AEG for compensation for the death of her son.

The 83 year old matriarch told the judges that she was not aware of any financial worries of MJ when he was alive. She said that she heard it from many people that her son was broke never felt if it was actually the case. Talking about Dr. Murray, she said that he was not appointed by Michael but AEG. She added that MJ had sympathy for Conrad Murray as he had no money.
When asked if she was aware that her son was abusing drugs, Katherine said that she was aware of the fact that MJ took pain killers but she did not know if he was abusing them in any way. In fact, MJ denied abusing medications when she asked him about it. She however chose to blame AEG executives saying they were in the know of the whole episode of drug abuse. They allowed NJ to continue to take painkillers that eventually took his life. She was tearful and used the words waste away in connection with the death of her son MJ. She said that the promoters of the ill fated comeback concert should have reached out to the family members and informed them about what was going on.
Katherine was tearful when she said that AEG should have asked for help from the family of the King of Pop. The attorney for Katherine Jackson showed several emails from co-workers of the ill fated concert to the judges. These emails reflected upon the concerns of these staff members about the failing health of the super star. Many of the messages simply express amazement at the inability of the singing icon to just rehearse properly. Clutching upon a tissue to wipe her tears, Katherine said that she was not aware of the extent of weakness of her son at the time just before his death in 2009.
Katherine, who was responding to the questions posed to her by her attorney, said that her grandson called up to tell her how his daddy was not well and how he felt that daddy was nervous and scared. Katherine apparently did not want to look at the photo of Michael Jackson that was taken days before his death and in which his frail arms and bones of the chest are visible to all.
Though AEG live has been blamed by Katherine for the death of her son, the company has refused to own any responsibility for the death of the singing icon. They have even denied having hired Dr. Murray.
