Katie Hopkins criticised for mocking celebs mourning Cilla Black’s death

Controversial TV personality Katie Hopkins has riled the public yet again – this time by criticising celebrities who have paid tribute to Cilla Black, who passed away yesterday.

After Hopkins’s first comment caused outrage online, with some Twitter users asking what was wrong with her and urging the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant to “have some respect”, she tweeted a follow-up remark saying: “I understand people love Cilla. But the race to proclaim this on Twitter is a curious thing”.

Sir Alan, who is just as outspoken when he needs to be, called her an idiot and told her to shut up after she said “When we show respect we have a minute’s silence”.

The Apprentice boss didn’t go easy on his former contestant [SG].

“Enough with the controversy BS you need to know where to draw the line”.

She joked: “Calm down @Lord_Sugar, you know you love your favourite Apprentice really…”

A host of stars took to Twitter to pay tribute to Cilla, among them Sheridan Smith, who recently played her in an ITV biopic.

Another added: “Cilla is and was a star, something you will never ever be”.

But, unsurprisingly, Katie didn’t seem too bothered about getting a telling off from the entrepreneur.
