The actress, who was yesterday honoured with the Smita Patil Memorial Award for her outstanding contribution to Hindi cinema, promised to keep her sincerity towards her work intact.

The Priyadarshini academy that since 1984 doles out these awards once every two years says the jury unanimously decided upon Kaif as the victor for “being an outstanding individual who had shown excellence in her field”. “But when there is recognition from the industry, in the form of an award, for me it is very overwhelming”. “And I promise my attempt to be truthful and honest to the craft which has largely given me the objective of my life over the last 15 years”. The award was presented by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and after the completion of ceremony she left out without taking to media. Katrina is not only one of the most successful and popular Bollywood actors but is also considered as one of India’s most attractive celebrities.
