Katrina Kaif’s ‘Fitoor’ mints Rs.3.61 crore on opening day

It’s Valentines weekend and love is flowing in all parts of the country, including Box Office. On the first day, Fitoor could only bring Rs 3.61 crore, which is way lesser than Fitoor. However, the film has received mixed reviews.

While, Sanam Re has already bagged praise for its soulful music and presents a love triangle revolving around Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela. But the adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations into the Kashmiri milieu failed to create a good impression among movie-goers. The highly star powered Fitoor which was expected to get overwhelmed response after release, witnessed lesser occupancy than Sanam Re on the opening day. The film has been making headlines for Pulkit-Yami’s alleged affair. Talking about the budget, Sanam Re is made on a budget of Rs 15 crore and on the contrary Fitoor stand at a whopping amount of Rs 70 crore. Both the films have opened below the mark and are still struggling at the box office. Sanam Re collected Rs 5.04 crore at the box office on its opening day, confirming that there is a market for cliched romantic tales still. Fitoor and Sanam Re hit the screens on Feburary 12.
