The star earned $135 million (£84.4 million) thanks to her Prismatic world tour, endorsements with Coty, accessories company Claire’s and Covergirl and her music.
Perry, 31, earned $135m (£88m) in the past 12 months, compared with an estimated $80m for Swift, 25, the business publication estimated. Her own tour, the 1989 World Tour, helped her cinch the high ranking, but couldn’t measure up to her rumored rival Perry’s haul. Her album “1989” sold more than 3.6 million copies and was the top release of 2014.
The British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, of which two of the five current members are women, ranks third (59.5 million). Their $59.5 million total, with over $1 million per city for their On With The Show tour, put them at No. 3. Beyoncé, who was the top earner of previous year, came in fifth with 54.5 million. The only other veteran artist to make the top ten was Mariah Carey at number 9 with $27 million although the magazine lists both Madonna and Celine Dion as “near misses”.
