A number of theatre-goers, who were in Studio 54, have reported that a man left his seat and stood by the front mezzanine railing, repeatedly asking Knightley to “marry him”.

Knightley remained in character and did not respond to the rowdy audience member. This is all an act!

The incident on Thursday occurred during the first preview of “Therese Raquin“, a stage adaptation of the Emile Zola novel in which Knightley plays a attractive, but doomed, heroine. “Christ was born of a virgin!'” Bange said.

Not surprisingly, the fan was quickly ejected after a struggle with security during which time he threw a bouquet of red roses on to the stage.

After a quick restart with intermission, the play was able to resume uninterrupted.

“At this point a security guard walks over and taps him on the shoulder, and [the man] starts yelling ‘Five seconds! The flowers landed near her [Knightley] and another actor [co-star Gabriel Ebert], who reportedly kicked them into the wings to audience cheers”.

The theater company that operates Studio 54 declined to elaborate but provided this statement: “Roundabout takes the safety of their actors and audiences very seriously and extra security will be added beginning Friday night”. When security arrived, the man tossed the flowers on his way out.
