A crowd of hundreds gathered, chanted and marched for a third successive night in the city of about 810,000 people, demanding justice for Scott, 43, who was shot dead by a black police officer in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tuesday afternoon.
The CMPD has maintained the narrative that Scott held a gun in his hands at the time of the shooting; however, his family has continuously said that he was not armed.
Then suddenly gunshots can be heard and Rakeyia shouts: “Did you shoot him?”
RAKEYIA SCOTT: Fuck. Did you shoot him?
“He better not be f– dead, he better not be f– dead!”
Days after a man was shot dead by the United States police in Charlotte, a new video has surfaced purportedly showing the victim did not possess a gun even as protests continue to rock the largest city of North Carolina.
Putney also said there was at least one video from a body camera and one other video from a dashboard camera that captured the deadly police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott.
The family saw two videos Thursday and, through a statement from their attorney, said that they would like the video released as well. “I can also tell you we did not find a book that has been made referenced to”.
“Don’t shoot him. He has no weapon … he ain’t do anything”, his wife can be heard in the video.
“There’s nothing in that video that shows him acting aggressively, threatening, or maybe unsafe”, Bamberg told Reuters on Friday.
RAKEYIA SCOTT: I’m not coming near you. I’m not coming near you, I’m going to record though.
RAKEYIA SCOTT: He doesn’t have a gun. He better live cause he didn’t do nothing to them.
A police source confirms to WBTV that a gun reportedly found near the body of Keith Lamont Scott has Scott’s fingerprints, DNA and blood on it. He better be alive, because I’m-you better be alive!
NBC reported that the family had not shown the cell phone video of the incident to the police before Friday.
Scott: “Keith! Keith! Keith! He better live. Because he didn’t do nothing to them”. “He better live. Because he didn’t do nothing to them”.
I swear he better live.
Officer: Is everybody good, are you good?
