Keith Urban brings Carrie Underwood to Oz

Keith Urban’s forthcoming album Ripcord will include two big name collaborations: Carrie Underwood and Pitbull.

“I got Pitbull, and Carrie’s on the record”, he spilled.

Kidman and Urban recently spoke with ET on the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards where she revealed that she “definitely danced” to her husband’s collaboration with Pitbull on the track “Sun Don’t Let Me Down”, off Urban’s upcoming album. There are no additional details, however, about Underwood’s contribution to RipCORD.

Underwood took the stage at the finale belting out her duet with Idol judge Keith Urban, “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”, showing off her toned legs in a sparkly tube top and short skirt. The tune is uptempo and features an electronic beat throughout, along with hints of banjo; it is poppy, but it retains a touch of country. “Stay right where you are!’ That’s the gist of the song”, said Urban. “He was killer on it. I can’t wait for people to hear it”.

“In that first half, La’Porsha sang [and] she absolutely had it”, Urban explained. Without her saying anything, I have a particular response that’s not necessarily the same without her. So, it’s important.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the road with Carrie, and to bringing our audiences together for what I think will be a magical night of sights, sounds, songs and solos”, Urban said in a statement at the time, while Carrie also had nothing but high praise for Keith nearly a decade ago.
