Kejriwal dares Modi, Jaitley over DDCA
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley sued Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for 100 million rupees ($1.51 million) December 21 for slander, escalating a battle between the ruling party and the opposition that has stalled key reform legislation in parliament. Jaitley, who has filed a Rs 10 crore defamation suit against Kejriwal and five AAP leaders, said the Congress had allowed itself to be stampeded into following the AAP path. “The Aam Aadmi Party’s success in Delhi seems to have misled the Congress party that vulgarity brings votes”.

The court sought replies from Kejriwal, Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh and Deepak Bajpai by February 5. “They have to file written statements within three weeks and, thereafter, in two weeks’ time, the plaintiff (Jaitley) will file replication”.
“The Congress party leadership must seriously explore that its disproportionate and irrational approach in dealing with Parliament is hurting institutions”, he said.
Jaitley has since rejected the claims repeatedly and has described them as the chief minister’s “propaganda technique to deflect attention when you yourselves are in the dock”.
On being asked about possible action against BJP MP Kirti Azad, Rathore, Jaitley’s deputy in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, said, “That is not for the government but the party to decide”. Azad, also a former Indian Cricketer, has been suspended from the party for his anti-party activities.
“The Party President cautioned them and suggested them to chorus from making such statements”.

Kejriwal has strongly opposed Jung’s letter to the Home Ministry, which said that the Delhi government has no authority to appoint a commission of inquiry, which is being helmed by senior advocate Gopal Subramaniam, into the alleged DDCA scam. “They are conducting CBI raids on us for small things”.

Accusing Kejriwal of double standards, she also said that CM is overlooking the corruption charges against Principal Secretary.
