He said that people of Punjab want a change of governance and this can be achieved by strong leaders. “I did not even ask for the Rajya Sabha seat, I was convinced and given one after a meeting with Amit Shah ji and Arun Jaitley ji”, he said.
A combative Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday he won’t be cowed down by protests and that he and the AAP will remain in Punjab till the ruling Badal family is jailed.
AAP leader Jarnail Singh said that to save the SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab, Sidhu has launched a new front.
“I got a message from God to support AAP to save Punjab”.
During the brief hearing, Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain told the bench that the Election Commission was also seized of the matter pertaining to the appointment of 21 legislators as parliamentary secretaries.
“Our slogan is “Punjab will win” this time. He [Kejriwal] offered a ministerial berth to my wife if AAP won and asked me not to fight the elections”, he said. This is Kejriwal’s first visit to Punjab after the AAP removed its Punjab convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur over issues of corruption.
He appealed to everyone to reach Nawi Dana Mandi at Bagha Purana in Moga on September 11 at 2 p.m. for the launch of a Farmers’ Manifesto.
AAP youth manifesto was embroiled in controversy, after it had images of its party symbol along with Golden Temple.
Attacking Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh for staging dharna in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bathinda on farmers’ issues, Badal said he was fond of playing gallery to the people and now he was indulging in these gimmicks just to woo the farmers.
While conducting the press conference at Chandigarh Press Club on Thursday, Navjot Singh Sidhu not only spoke like a Punjabi but also spoke mostly in the Punjabi language.
Pargat Singh was last month suspended from the Akali Dal for “anti-party” activities.
