Kell Brook back in action this Spring, says Eddie Hearn
Golovkin has become recognised for his pure power and is one of the hardest hitters in the sport, so would naturally favour a street fight or brawl instead of a technical matchup. The fight would take place in early 2017 if Brook’s broken eight socket is healed by then. I have been in hundreds of title fights, I have got plenty of knowledge and I have seen the worst-case scenarios. He’s done himself proud.

Billy Joe Saunders is eager to challenge middleweight supremo Gennady Golovkin once he shakes off the ring rust after almost a year out of action. It just seems like an upside down work where failure is good and winning goes unrewarded. For Brook, who remains IBF world welterweight champion, there was no disgrace in losing to the world’s best boxer after courageously stepping up two weight divisions to face Golovkin, whose rival world middleweight champions have so far refused to fight him.
However, Liam Smith is aiming to do what Brook failed to and put an end – if only temporarily at least – to a Golovkin-Canelo showdown.
He emerged with a lot of credit after being written off by most, and boxing fans around the world will have to sit up and notice “the special one” when he gets in the ring again. I guess that’s the whole point though.
Triple G has done his part in finally putting together one of the most sought-after fights of modern times; now Saul “Canelo” Alvarez must do the same in Texas on Saturday night.
Jacobs, 29, said it’s effectively out of his hands now that he’s expressed his interest in being Golovkin’s next foe. That’s a fight Kell would absolutely love and has said so to me himself.
With Brook expressing a desire to only be involved in the biggest fights possible now, Miguel Cotto will surely be on his radar. They are the three main ones we are looking at for his comeback. “Just come on more, I want more'”.
“There’s will on both side to make that fight happen and I would prefer it in Britain”, said Warren.
The Blackwell family were very unhappy at the treatment they received after the fight from the Eubanks.
“I know what I have to do and I know what it takes to beat someone like him”.
“Why should I regret it?” By fighting a world champion two weights below him, Golovkin showed he is running out of opponents. He might do it [drop down to 147] for Amir Khan.

You see here I am talking about a guy who was not in the ring but managed to grab our attention from outside it. Granted, like a majority of attackers, Golovkin is ineffective if you can make him go back. Brook didn’t do anything in that fight other than land a handful of pot shots, run and hold for five rounds before he was stopped. Canelo of course has Liam Smith to get past first, and Brook has expressed a desire to fight the victor of their bout. At the time of the stoppage Brook, though not on the verge of being knocked out – was starting to be overwhelmed by Golovkin. But upon another view, it’s clear that Golovkin was never more than annoyed and bothered by Brook’s punches.
