Kelly Clarkson Claims She Was ‘Blackmailed’ Into Working With Dr. Luke
Kelly Clarkson has made some damning statements against music producer, and Kesha’s alleged abuser Dr. Luke in an interview on Australian radio station KIISFM.

Dr. Luke produced two of Clarkson’s singles – the smash hit “Since U Been Gone” in 2004 and “Behind These Hazel Eyes” which was released in 2005. “It’s really hard for me because he’ll just lie to people, and it makes the artist look bad… he’s kind of difficult to work with and kind of demeaning”, Kelly continued. She admitted that while he’s “obviously a talented dude”, she also said he’s “lied a lot”. She said a lot without saying much at all, really, tweeting that she was “trying 2 not say anything since I can’t say anything nice about a person”.
This short year has been a hard one for Kesha, who has been embroiled in what has become a very public legal battle with producer Dr. Luke. “And you know, we have a whole crew to support and people that depend on us for their livelihood, so sometimes you just have to make those decisions and swallow that pill”. I wasn’t there. I don’t know specifically what happened in their situation. “I love everyone I work with and he’s really-he’s just not a good guy”.
“Unfortunately when you have that poor a character that so many artists don’t like you, that’s not normal”.
“I only worked with him because literally I was blackmailed by my label”, she said, and claimed that her label threatened they would not release her album if she didn’t work with him.

However, Kelly added that her problems with Dr. Luke – real name Lukasz Gottwald – were strictly professional, adding: “He never did anything like that [alleged sexual assault] to me”. “But if it’s true I can’t imagine working with someone who had done something like that”. It’s important to note that Clarkson’s comments on the producer come after finally fulfilling the record contract she won after being crowned “American Idol” in 2002. However, a source close to the producer tells ET that he and producer Max Martin were asked to work with Clarkson. Max, Luke and I still fought for the bigger sound and we prevailed and I couldn’t be more proud of the life of that song.
