Kelly Clarkson joining ‘The Voice’ as coach for 14th season

American Idol and three-time Grammy Award victor Kelly Clarkson is set to take on the job of coaching singers on season 14 of The Voice. Well, Clarkson is set to join Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and whatever fourth coach ends up being announced later on. In a statement, Clarkson said that she was “excited” to become a coach on The Voice. The singer has appeared on the show multiple times before, both as as an adviser and performer. FremantleMedia, the producer of the hit show, came to an agreement with ABC to bring “American Idol” back on the television screen.

In addition to The Voice landing superstar Kelly Clarkson for its 2018 season, The Voice Season 13 will feature noted American Idol alumnus Jennifer Hudson.

“I’m finally not knocked up and I can join your show!” joked Clarkson, responding to Shelton’s good-natured trash talk by showing off her multiple music industry honors, including ones from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. A source told the gossip column that Ripa is not thrilled with ABC’s choice to resurrect “American Idol” now that Seacrest is on her show full-time.

Kelly made the announcement by video chatting with Blake Shelton on his Facebook page.

“American Idol” previously aired on FOX, so it comes as a surprise that the singing competition series will be making its comeback on ABC.

Clarkson has been a “Voice” adviser in previous years.

Responding to rumors that Kelly Clarkson may be a judge on the show, Lythgoe said: “She’s very smart and she’s been through it herself”. This spring marks the 12th season for The Voice.

Ryan only began hosting “Live” on May 1, while he served as the host or co-host on “American Idol” for 15 seasons. And Clarkson hasn’t done too badly either; she’s sold over 25 million albums, racked up three Grammys, gotten married, had two kids, and seems blissfully happy in all her success.
