Kelly Clarkson can not hide her respect and admiration for her husband, Brandon Blackstock, whose parenting and love for their daughter, River Rose, inspired Clarkson’s song “Piece by Piece”.

Many came to the conclusion it was a mixture of pregnancy hormones and emotions from the reunion – and that is probably part of it – but Clarkson points to embarrassment being the real culprit that led to tears during “Piece by Piece”.
Kelly Clarkson revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, March 3, that she was embarrassed by how emotional she got on American Idol last week.
Kelly Clarkson, 33, admits she was so “embarrassed” that she cried during her emotional performance on American Idol. Because I was like it was so embarrassing.
“He was [at Idol], my little girl was there, my little boy was turning circles in my stomach”.

While the song undoubtedly prompts an emotional response, with judge Keith Urban also reduced to tears by the performance, Kelly insists it’s a hopeful tale as well. The song means a lot to Kelly, and it really digs deep into her relationship with her estranged father. “Not one time did I look next to me and notice he was sobbing”. “Because unlike you I’m gonna put her first”, which refers to the singer’s own daughter.
“I definitely didn’t know how it would affect me like it does when I sing it live because that’s not fun, It’s awesome but it’s kind of sad that so many relate to this song”, she said.
Sniff. On Monday, Miz Clarkson opened up to Ryan Seacrest about what it is like watching her man in his role as a doting father.
“My one-year-old is running around the same hallway as I was 19”, she explained. She is the first person to ever win the competition.
See if you can make it through without shedding a tear.

Kelly replied: “I’m pregnant and it’s nostalgic and I can’t believe it’s the last season”.
