In a bid to rebuff Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over his own racist comments about Mexican immigrants, Kelly Osbourne attracted widespread criticism over her own comments about Latinos.
“If you’ve ever met a racist, it’s pretty clear”, she added with a chuckle. This week on TV series The View, Kelly inquired rhetorically: “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?” “I am not part of this argument”, she said in the end.
Kelly quickly issued a public apology on her Facebook page, and Wednesday, she sat down with an interview for Extra where she clarified her comments further: “If I saw that clip with just the 10 seconds, I’d hate me too”, she said. Though she later tweeted an apology to Osbourne after the show.
“The View” co-host Rosie Perez was quick to push back, saying “Latinos are not the only people doing that”. Two days after winning, the Post admitted the story had been fabricated and she resigned. The former “Fashion Police” host shut down the recent accusations.
Osbourne has since apologized, insisting she is not a racist but takes responsibility for her actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT.
The comedian went on to explain that those kinds of slip-ups are run-of-the-mill for a live talk show like “The View“. So, apparently Zendaya’s hair is off limits, but it is totally acceptable to say that Latin Americans are just “toilet cleaners”. My bad. You’re heart is so pure & righteous.

The ladies on The View discussed the incident further some hours ago, and perhaps not surprisingly, Whoopi Goldberg and Raven Symone came to Kelly’s defense.
