While many were shocked to hear the announcement on Tuesday of Strahan’s decision to move to GMA, show co-host George Stephanopoulos’ attitude after his first time working with him clearly suggests that the transition should be a smooth one. Next stop could be Washington’.

Ripa, who had a 12-year run on “All My Children” before joining “Live” in 2001, was chosen from a slew of guest hosts that sat in with Regis Philbin during his solo stint helming the show after Kathie Lee Gifford’s departure in 2000.

ABC confirms that Kelly Ripa won’t be back on #LiveWithKellyandMichael until next Tuesday at the earliest. “He didn’t have to be, but he didn’t want to have her hear it and not be there”, the source says. “She’d also like someone to do the right thing and speak to her face to face rather than plot and plan behind her back”.

Strahan co-hosted Wednesday’s show with Saturday Night Live alum Ana Gasteyer, and addressed the elephant in the room during the taping, another source explained to ET.

‘It is the same channel. “I’m not going anywhere”. It’s not a eulogy people’.

The same report speculated that Strahan’s addition to “GMA” could portend a third hour for the morning show, a move made by its competitor “Today”.

Strahan joined Ripa and others in the meeting.

Strahan talked about his departure, which isn’t supposed to take place until September, and sent thanks to Ripa, saying, “I love you”. “She’s just been an wonderful influence on me and this has truly changed my life to be here with her”. I know that the show will continue to be strong and great because of Kelly and Michael Gelman and the staff here. This show has not been around for over 30 years by mistake’.
