Kendra Saunders Makes Her Debut on Tonight’s ‘The Flash’
Iris is still dealing with last week’s emotions.

As I have said numerous times in prior reviews, the relationships this season have been handled considerably better. They are all very reluctant to join forces with Barry. With the re-appearance of Wells, it’s hard not to wonder just what the show is going to do to shake up the series next. Smooth indeed. Caitlyn and Jay continue their watch, comparing their two Earths when he drops the morsel that they still have the city of Atlantis on his world and that his best friend is from there (Earth-2 Aquaman anyone?). Joe agrees and points out that he just wants one week where he is not surprised by somebody from the past. Linda’s paper is being sued for a story and Iris is there to witness Linda’s ferocity. I’ve been expecting Jay to get his powers back for several weeks now, because what fun is having a second Flash around if he can’t run?
What did you think of the episode?
Jay and Caitlin assumed Dr. Light was there to murder our Earth’s Linda. The upcoming episode will shed more light on the backstory about how Wells created the evil. The two have met before and the two have an argument about what to do with light. However, Wells is actually the person that progresses Cisco forward as a metahuman here. Meanwhile on Earth-1, Wells is very cold to Barry, Cisco, and Caitlyn and won’t apologize for anything that his doppelganger did previously. You don’t have to like this guy, but you can’t help but respect him. Wells says he has proof of his identity. Like the other Earth Two metahumans, she’s been sent to this Earth by Zoom to kill Flash.
First thing is first, I was not expecting Dr. Light to be Linda Park. He radios in and tells his team that he can’t see. Only thing: did Patty really use filling out a police report as a means to hanging out with Barry? In addition to speed, she also has her mother’s super strength. Iris reads the text and discovers Patty is late for their date. Harrison wants to know why Cisco can’t look him in the eye. There was more interrogation that went on whenever Jay first appeared. He guides Barry for a little bit before sitting back, because in his words “You got this”. As the two go to kiss each other, Dr. Light approaches and knocks their van over with a powerful blast. He created apps and wearables to alert Central City’s citizens to the presence of metas. They always seemed to gel with the thematic core of the episode as well as mesh with the grander Flash narrative.
The moment Dr. Light is unmasked. When Jay comes in to confront Dr. Light, she attacks everyone in the room pushing them back. They both get called in to the crime scene. Barry blames himself for not being there and decides to use the helmet to help.
With the reintroduction of Wells to the team marks the return of his oddly appropriate life lessons.
So while Barry’s preoccupied with keeping everyone in line re “Harry” Wells, he also steps up his romance game in this episode. Their conflict is so charged that it leads to blows until Barry separates them.
Let’s rank the known versions of Harrison Wells.
Earth-Two’s Harrison Wells brings a few darkness with him across the trans-dimensional expressway, but it’s a different shade than we came to expect from his Earth-One counterpart. Now that Star Labs knows his powers, what will they do to utilize it? Cisco is sure about his powers but it is activated by touch. He touches the mask but nothing seems to happen. She escapes in a ball of light. She says no one can protect him from Zoom. Will he find the same bus route Henry took out of town?
Caitlyn “was just getting used to Jay being part of the team”? Barry tries and fails, but Jay encourages him, saying Harrison was right and that Barry will be faster than he’ll ever be. And unlike Barry and Eobard’s Wells, Jay and Harry do not get along. He came across as extremely whiny this episode, and inferior to Barry which I was hoping he would be more of the mentor for him.

Cisco, Barry and Caitlyn discuss everything that has happened. Vibe. Zoom approaches a woman that is being held captive. He says that he will find her father and kill him. Kendra, while not yet revealed, is also Hawkgirl and one of the Legends of Tomorrow. Joe gave her a gun in act one of the episode and it was definitely fired in act three, unmasking Dr. Light and offering Team Flash a vital clue in the form of her Phantom-of-the-Paradise-esque accessory. Sure, this Wells is abrasive and condescending, but he’s also a pragmatist who is dead set on helping Barry reach his full potential in order to combat Zoom. Barry is pretty trusting and Joe is stand-offish.
