Kenseth suspended for two races; Patrick penalized
NASCAR also placed Kenseth on probation for six months.

Matt Kenseth, driver of the #20 Dollar General Toyota, speaks with the media after an on-track incident with Joey Logano, driver of the #22 Shell Pennzoil Ford, during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway on November 1, 2015 in Martinsville, Virginia.
Many view the incident as Kenseth’s response to the race at Kansas Speedway two weeks ago when Kenseth blocked Logano in the closing laps while racing for the lead, and ultimately, the win. It irked Kenseth, and he responded with a move that many drivers would applaud as he righted the wrong done to him at Kansas. Logano clearly had the stronger auto, but instead of giving Kenseth a chance to “race” for the win, Logano made a decision to dump him.
Not surprisingly, one of Kenseth’s biggest supporters was Denny Hamlin, his teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing. Busch, the last driver to be suspended for on-track conduct, wrecked Ron Hornaday under cation in a Truck Series race. That’s exactly the way I should’ve raced and he blocked me.’ That’s fine if you feel that way, but guess what?
We’ve all wondered when it was going to happen. They said there will be no further comments from JGR personnel during the appeal process. In years past, a driver like Mark Martin might wave a faster auto by while others, even when a lap down, would race the leader tooth-and-nail.
If Kenseth’s appeal is denied, he would still have the chance to take his case to NASCAR’s Final Appeals officer Bryan Moss.
I have no problem if NASCAR wants to crackdown on paybacks, it’s there sport, they can do what they want.
This started when Logano spun out Kenseth while trying to take the lead from him at Kansas Speedway on October 18. We’ll get to you later. Again, thanks for reading, hope you have a great rest of your day!! Kenseth should be removed from all rosters at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix global Raceway. (The Chase was originally instituted in 2004 almost as a direct response to Kenseth’s points-driven 2003 Winston Cup title.) Around that same time, Logano and Brad Keselowski began their careers on the major circuit, taking the element of brashness brought by predecessors Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch and revving it up to 12 on scale of 1 to 10.
“The right front was dragging down there and probably should’ve went to the garage area and went into the corner there and, man, couldn’t get it to turn and collected him, ” Kenseth said at the time. It’s a tough sport, a few days you’re the bat and a few days you’re the ball.
The lack of settling was why NASCAR needed to make a move on Tuesday. They’re going to come down hard, and that’s the message they sent today. That’s going to happen depending on what end you’re on.

This is the second multi-race suspension of the year for a Cup driver. Danica Patrick did the same to David Gilliland in this same Martinsville race (she, too, was penalized Tuesday, although only $50,000 and 25 points).
