Kenseth to start on the poll at Dover
Prior to last Sunday’s Chase race at New Hampshire, Jeff Gordon offered his take on Harvick vs. Johnson, Gordon’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate. “It will be less distance to get speed built up closer to the start/finish line and I think we will maybe control that space a little bit better”.

“There were no punches to the chest after this race”, Edwards said. Harvick: “We’re just concentrating on things that we need to right now”.
After a tumultuous race last week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway – in which seven Chase drivers either overcame or succumbed to significant adversity – the stage is set for a lights-out race Sunday at Dover’s Monster Mile. “But if there is a track where limited track time would help us, it would be here”. But led a bunch of laps and looking forward to the challenge this weekend. Crew chiefs often use the same chassis on these two tracks, and that suggests a strong enough correlation for bettors to follow.
What happened? Harvick doesn’t know. I don’t know the answer to that a hundred percent. So it’s definitely something that you have to react pretty quickly on. One of the most awesome stats you’ll see in NASCAR is Johnson’s record at Dover, where he wins every 2.7 starts.
Regardless of whether he wins his way into the Chase, Harvick will still go racing the next weekend at Charlotte.
Two pre-Chase title favorites, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, ran into trouble and are now in jeopardy of not making it to the next Chase round of 13 drivers. Are you kind of shocked that you’re in this?
Kyle Busch could be in jeopardy of being eliminated unless he wins next week at Dover.
So it’s not something that we haven’t been a part of. “That’s because I drive for the team no one’s talking about”. So put an asterisk on Kenseth’s fifth win of the season if you must. Not only will it be the biggest race of the season to date, a few championship contenders could be seeing their chances at a championship come to an end.
“We’re 0-2 in a five-game series”, Harvick said Thursday.
“Fast vehicle. Great day”.
So, you guys all know how Tony is. “We got the penalty – just barely”.
“I’ve got my work cut out for me“, Busch said. “We are definitely happy that we have been through those moments and been able to capitalize on those situations”.
“The race at Dover is an elimination race”, Earnhardt said. “I can’t imagine a few of the situations they are in”.
He never has won in 29 starts at Dover, but has led 338 laps in the past three races at the 1-mile oval. “I think it will slow down a few of the three and four wide, into turn one scenarios we have had”.
Weigh in below on your thoughts of Harvick’s dismal Chase luck.
With a NASCAR championship defense at stake, Kevin Harvick tried to spin Dover as just another race. So it’s definitely an interesting situation for sure.

So far Harvick has taken a beating on the track, and dished one out in the motorhome.
