Kentucky hangs on for 78-73 win over Davidson
The Davidson Wildcats (21-11) doesn’t have a history like Kentucky, but they are not a complete stranger in the final tournament.

“With us being a MAC, it’s easy to look at us as a team that can’t compete with a high-major, a team that has four National Basketball Association prospects”, Clark said. However, they also have success when it comes to the college ranks, which is what he’s hoping to bring forth in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
For a team that’s already played 35 games, Kentucky is still improving during a time when teams are exiting the Big Dance.
Now the Wildcats’ tumultuous season is done and so is the Pac-12 – Arizona was the last of the conference’s three teams still in the bracket.
0 – Three-pointers for United Kingdom, ending a streak of 1,047 consecutive games with at least one trey.
“I don’t know if it’s whining or I’m telling the truth”. They didn’t fall tonight. We know it’s going to be a tough game.
Kentucky’s goal was to dominate in the post instead of getting into a 3-point shootout against Davidson.
Meanwhile, Davidson made 11 of its 33 attempted threes, but it wasn’t enough to propel them into the next round.
Kentucky had a 13-point lead late in the first half, and let Davidson come all the way back.
“They’re freshmen and they’re learning”, Kentucky coach John Calipari said.
The third-seeded Arizona Wildcats experienced the biggest upset of the day when they lost to No. 13 Buffalo in a rout, 89-68. “We contested their shots well”. “They’re just always so fresh and just kinda melt in your mouth”, said Courtney Rosenkoetter. Joel Axel Gudmundsson came out of the locker room hot scoring seven early points as the Wildcats cut the lead down to three by the first media timeout. Against Davidson, the Cats really struggled to knock down outside shots. Jarred Vanderbilt leads in rebounds with 7.9 while Gilgeous-Alexander tops in assists with 5.0 per game.
“This guy got me coming back to eating donuts. I know what this team is capable of, and I’ve tried to paint that picture in their mind: This is what we are when we’re at our best”.
Just like the SEC Tournament, Killeya-Jones started the second half and produced.
Knox and Gilgeous-Alexander carried Kentucky in the second half.
“We’ve got a mature group of kids”, he said. “And it may have caused us the problem of sending them to the line as much as we did”. He hit 3, three pointers in the first three minutes to cut the United Kingdom lead to 41-38.

The game stayed close until Kentucky made the game-defining run. So imagine an entire team – one with Final Four ambitions, no less – going an entire game without making a single one. “It’s March and no team wants to go home”.
