Just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Louisville Metro Department of Corrections confirmed that Christopher Cornelius was back in custody. However, no details have been released about how the two felons were captured, or how they got injuries that were evaluated by medical staff. “If he was thinking he wouldn’t have done it”, said Johnson’s mother, Billie Johnson, reported by WDRB.
Johnson’s family says it’s been a battle. “I don’t have to worry”, she said.
Officers are searching the area, and Corrections officials asked any residents who spots the missing inmate to call the police immediately. He injured his ankle and back and remained hospitalized Tuesday.
Both inmates were booked in July of this year.
Cornelius and Johnson were in jail for drug related charges. Metro Correction’s Incident Response Team was activated by 11:30 p.m., Bolton said, about the time the jail was given information that perhaps both men didn’t successfully escape.

Sarah Johnson was arrested and booked for charges of escape 2nd degree, drug paraphernalia, and hindering prosecution.
