Kentucky, Oregon hold primaries Tuesday as Clinton, Trump look to November matchup
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky Hillary Clinton campaigned hard Sunday in Kentucky, where rival Bernie Sanders looks to extend his winning streak in Tuesday’s primary and further delay her clinching the Democratic presidential nomination.

The Nevada Democratic Party says Paris Hotel security could no longer guarantee safety of the delegates, resulting in the convention’s conclusion at approximately 10 p.m. The convention lasted several hours longer than expected; the original end-time was scheduled for 7 p.m.
Unrest continued after the convention.
Sanders supporters upset with the proceedings staged a protest outside the Nevada State Democratic Party headquarters on Sunday, writing in sidewalk chalk “Roberta Lange murdered democracy” and “Fire Roberta”. A report was filed with the Metropolitan Police Department.
That passion was apparent at the state’s convention, she said, with unusually large numbers of delegates traveling huge distances from across Alaska to show their support for him.
The Vermont senator shows no signs of easing off before the July convention, and Democrats worry he’ll make only measured contributions in helping her court his voters between August and November.
Party officials have said those people didn’t meet the criteria for various reasons, including not registering as Democrats by a deadline, or having incomplete or wrong information on file and not responding to prior requests to correct it. Eight potential delegates for Clinton also were turned away.
Bernie Sanders’ candidacy has raised the hopes of many in the United States but he argues change will only come from a political movement. “That’s what this campaign is about”, said Sanders.
Organizers say the state party chairwoman accepted a motion to appoint delegates pre-approved by the Hillary Clinton and Sanders campaigns. An initial story about the Nevada convention was taken down, replaced with one about how Bernie Sanders supporters were “acting up” in Nevada.
Attendees also elected new party leaders. She has 94 percent of the delegates required for nomination, meaning that she could lose all the remaining primary and caucus states by wide margins and still emerge victorious – so long as she keeps the allegiance of her supporters among the super-delegates, who are party insiders unbound by popular votes. “This party is supposed to be the party of unity and inclusion”. “They’re not Democrats, these kids”, said Howard Dean, a 2004 Democratic primary candidate and a Clinton surrogate. “The actions of the credentials committee violates the spirit of the Nevada state delegate plan, which encourages full participation in the democratic process, and it violates the spirit and values of our state and our nation”. She won by 33 delegates in a field of almost 3,400.
Things only got worse when it was announced that Clinton received 1,695 delegates to Sanders’ 1,662 delegates.

Some progressives would also offset a weakness of Clinton – who will be 69 by Election Day – that she can’t compensate for with her résumé: her age.
