Four Lipscomb women’s tennis players – Lorena Djuknic, Laura Kent, Melissa Kromer and Deahna Welcher – have earned Scholar-Athlete status from the worldwide tennis Association (ITA). Members must earn a varsity letter, have a grade-point average of 3.50 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. Oregon won its first outdoor title in 30 year, while it’s contingent of NCAA competitors carried a 3.19 combined GPA. The awards represent the second-straight honors for Hamilton and Verbeek.
Coach Kevin Cole’s Flying Dutch recorded a cumulative team grade point average of 3.47 to repeat as a USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
Among a total of 838 women from 207 institutions, Mullins, a marketing/finance double major, Lembo, a biology major and Nagel, pursuing a masters in business administration, each earned a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team alongside Sisson. As a whole, the men’s team placed four representatives on the Baylor Dean’s List and all 11 of its players on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
