“I am aware that this protest is not against me, but against the government”. The whole world is watching you. “You have made your point and I have also noted it”.

The Opposition began shouting slogans holding the banner “Don’t want tainted Ministry’s policy”.

With another budget session beginning on Friday, both the treasury and Opposition benches would attempt not to repeat the incidents that led to the Assembly bedlam on March 13, 2015, when the last budget was presented by the then Finance Minister K M Mani amidst the Opposition creating a ruckus in the House.

Earlier, as soon as the Governor began his customary address at the start of the session, Achuthanandan stood up and said the government was “neck deep” in corruption and investigation against them was going on and wanted the Governor to intervene.

The Left front also took out an Assembly march demanding resignation of Chandy and ministers facing allegations in the solar and bar scams. The allegations have been denied by the Chief Minister before the judicial commission.

The session, which will last until February 25, is expected to be turbulent in view of the two major scandals haunting the Chandy Government and the upcoming Assembly election.
