Kerala: Man dies after Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindias auto hits two-wheeler

A 65-year-old man was on Wednesday killed when his two-wheeler was allegedly hit by a vehicle in which Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia was travelling near Alappuzha, police said. The Congress lawmaker, who was in Kerala for a function, was inside his auto when it collided with the victim’s two-wheeler.

The victim was declared brought dead on being rushed to the hospital by Scindia and his driver.

While Scindia escaped unhurt from the accident, the man driving the two-wheeler wasn’t so lucky.

The MP reportedly sent the auto and driver involved in the accident to the police station and took another vehicle. The vehicle was shifted to Pattankadu police station limits.

The Pattanakad police have registered a case in this regard.

Jyotiraditya Scindia was on his way to attend a function at Cherthala when the accident happened.

The Congress leader tweeted that he would meet the family.

Scindia, a three-time Member of Parliament from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, was travelling on the National Highway-66 in Pattanakadu village in Alappuzha when his auto hit a sexagenarian riding a two-wheeler, according to AAj Tak.
