During a news conference Tuesday morning at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Kermit the Frog revealed that he and Miss Piggy have “gone our separate ways romantically” and that, yes, it “can be tough to work with your ex”. A pig with a Room of Her Own.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) – Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, who have been on-again, off-again over the years, have now called it quits.

Kermit will be an executive producer on Miss Piggy’s talk show, which will have guests such as Reese Witherspoon. “Nevertheless, our private lives at the moment are distinct and separate, and we might be seeing different individuals, pigs, frogs, et al”.

A joint statement by the pair released on Twitter reads: “After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the hard decision to terminate our romantic relationship”.

But Piggy, who arguably has always been more invested in the relationship than Kermit, seemed slighted by the split, saying “One of us is certainly professional”.

As was the case with the previous series, “there’s going to be a big celebrity every week”, said Kushell, explaining the show will feature appearances from celebrities-including Reese Witherspoon -who have been booked on Piggy’s late-night show.

Piggy, of course, had a few things to say too: “I have no problem working with my ex, okay?”

“Dating Moi is like flying close to the sun”, she admitted. Kermit has at times been both praised and questioned for staying with Piggy despite her well-documented diva behavior and rumored hook-ups with other Hollywood A-listers.
