Kerry arrives in Paris for Syria talks
The chief architects of the fragile truce, Washington and Moscow, used a joint statement to show they’re still committed to resuming peace talks to end Syria’s civil war, despite unmitigated differences over a role for Syrian President Bashar Assad in a future government. Those groups are common enemies of the USA, numerous opposition groups and Assad, but they are fighting in the same areas, making it hard to distinguish which strikes violate the cease-fire and which ones don’t.

Kerry said the approach of the US presidential election in November should encourage the parties to work towards an agreement, and he disagreed with those who argued otherwise.
In mid-April the Syrian opposition suspended its participation in peace talks in Geneva, citing a lack of progress on humanitarian issues and escalating ceasefire breaches.
The French foreign minister is to hold separate talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Paris later on Monday. Kerry said the USA and Russian Federation had shared their announcement with the other countries participating in stalled talks to end Syria’s long-running civil war.
Kerry will be in Paris on Monday for talks with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault, then fly on to Britain the next day, said the spokesman.

The conversation focused on the efforts of Russian Federation and U.S.as the co-chairs of International Syria Support Group to settle the conflict. Diplomats say the USA will endorse a tough new tone with Israel in an upcoming worldwide report.
