Kerry criticizes Russia’s ‘repeated aggression’ in Ukraine, Syria
The Kremlin said President Vladimir Putin and Mr Obama had spoken by telephone and agreed to intensify co-operation to implement the Munich agreement.

“Mr Putin, this is not a civil war in Ukraine, this is your aggression”, he said.
At the same time, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation chief has repeatedly called for a reinforced military presence in Eastern Europe in response to what North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the West claim to be a Russian threat. McCain also said he favors establishing a no-fly zone over Syria.
“The Russians have launched ferocious air attacks, rapidly increasing the intensity of them over the last few weeks, and that has forced them [Syrian opposition forces] out of some of the positions they control”. He even accused Putin of not being interested in having a partnership with the US and using Syria to modernize its military.
Medvedev raised hackles during the Munich Security Conference over the weekend, when he said the world had “slid into a new period of Cold War”. The United States wants to remove President Assad from Syria, while Russian Federation wants him to remain in place. He said his government’s eventual goal was to retake all of the country, large swathes of which are controlled by rebel forces or the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militant group.
“Asked whether a point could be reached in which Russian Federation would consider a longer presence in Syria, Medvedev said” “We don’t need a permanent war, and Russian Federation would not want to become involved in anything of the kind”.
BBC News reports that Russian Federation has received criticism from other countries because of the Crimean Peninsula invasion back in 2014 and recently with the air strikes in Syria in cooperation with President Bashar al-Assad.
The State Department said Kerry and Lavrov met again on Saturday afternoon to go over plans for a task force to work out the details for the truce and also briefly discussed the organization of a second task force to coordinate humanitarian aid.
“It makes no sense for us to say that we will give up any part”, he said.
On Friday, Turkey’s foreign minister said Russian Federation was targeting schools and hospitals with its bombing, putting the blame squarely on Moscow for the wave of tens of thousands of displaced people who have arrived at the Turkish border over the past week.
They have agreed on the delivery of humanitarian aid to besieged Syrian cities over the following few days, to be followed by implementation of a “cessation of hostilities” within a week.

Participating in the same panel, U.S. Senator John McCain said he did not view the deal, sealed in Munich early Friday morning after nine hours of talks, as a breakthrough.
