The economy may grow 4 percent this Iranian financial year, double the pace expected before the nuclear deal, according to the deputy governor of Iran’s central bank.

In a conference call with Ohio reporters, Portman, R-Ohio, said he was briefed Wednesday by Wendy Sherman, undersecretary of state for political affairs and the chief U.S. negotiator on the deal; U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, who played a key role in the negotiations, and members from the intelligence agencies.
Gillibrand, the junior senator from New York, said in a statement Thursday that Iran was likelier to obtain a nuclear weapon sooner should Congress kill the deal.
“This regime will continue to deny Israel’s right to exist, the Quds Force”, an division of the country’s Revolutionary Guards, “will still be listed as a terrorist organization, and Iran will continue to exacerbate tensions with our allies in the region“, she said. The Congress of the United States promised nothing to Iran.
Kerry has been the lead negotiator for the Obama administration with Iran and the global community as whole in terms of a nuclear deal with Tehran. US Secretary of State John Kerry revealed to the media here this afternoon that he broached the subject of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s imprisonment during his 45-minute meeting yesterday with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
In addition to Qatar, the Gulf Cooperation Council includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
Kerry was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, which endorsed the Iran agreement Thursday.
“It is impossible not to have thoughts about it”, Kerry said, adding that he had watched the ceremony in Hiroshima’s peace park marking the moment of the atomic blast in 1945. “Needless to say, it is a very, very powerful reminder of not just the impact of war lasting today on people and countries but it also underscores the importance of the agreement we have reached with Iran to reduce the possibility of more nuclear weapons“.
Kerry paid tribute to Hiroshima’s survivors and to the current strong relationship between Japan and the United States.
“She survived and she is a great witness to the human spirit and to our ability to reconcile after war”, he said.

“I’ve gone through this backwards and forwards a hundred times and I’m telling you, this deal is as pro-Israel, as pro-Israel’s security, as it gets”, Kerry told the Atlantic.
