Kesha drops sexual assault lawsuit against Dr. Luke
As previously reported, there have been various strands to the long-running legal battle between Kesha Sebert and her one time musical mentor Lukasz Gottwald, with litigation filed in three different states. As of Friday, she’s dropped the NY charges as well, Nylon reports The saga started back in October 2014, when Dr. Luke sued Kesha for breach of contract, according to the BBC. Alleging Kesha made up her claims in order to get out of her contract, Dr. Luke sued her for defamation of character, bringing the battle to NY, where she responded by countersuing him in the state for alleged sexual assault, battery, harassment, and emotional distress, among other things.

The singer issued a statement earlier this month (Aug16) on Instagram after she dropped the case in California, and reassured fans she has not given up on her legal fight.
Now editors at The Hollywood Reporter claim the singer has further retreated in her legal battles against Dr. Luke in NY, after it was reported she was now focusing on her legal claims against the producer, including an appeal, in the NY courts.
Kesha has been trying to get out of her contract with Luke’s Kemosabe Record, which is owned by Sony, since 2014.
Aside from the lawsuit, Kesha wants to get her music career on track, and has already sent 28 songs to her label.

“I am continuing to fight for my rights in NY”. In a new legal filing spotted by Billboard, the singer says she plans to fight Gottwald’s claims of breach of contract by presenting various “professional grievances”. Hopefully she’ll be able to share that music with the world.
