The Astros have scored 12 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in seven of their last eight games. In the fifth and sixth innings, the Astros played add-on with a couple of 2-RBI singles from third basemen Luis Valbuena to give them 5-0 and 8-0 leads.

Perez allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts over five innings making his first appearance since May 10, 2014.

“I don’t really know that Odor guy much, but he’s got some good veterans he can learn the game from over there like (Adrian) Beltre and Prince”, Feldman said. “Jeff is a good baseball man. He was defending his team, like I was”. “The biggest thing is just getting that out and seeing how I feel in a couple of days”.

Gattis’ moonshot of a home run off Phillies’ pitcher Cole Hamels was the longest hit ball of the 2013 season, and Gattis has still shown the ability to crush a pitch through his 15 first-half home runs. “But we’re in a pennant race, though, so it’s not time for me to be pleased with an outing like that”.

Given his sparkling career results against the Astros in Houston, Lewis’ early dominance hardly registered as a surprise. “That I can do the job up here”.

Conger stood and advanced towards Odor with plate umpire Tony Randazzo quickly stepping between the two. Hinch announced on Sunday that Vince Velasquez will get the start on Tuesday with Collin McHugh pitching on Wednesday for Houston. “Everybody picked each other up”.

Odor and Houston catcher Hank Conger began jawing the plate in the ninth inning of Texas’ 7-6 win Saturday night, and it escalated into a shouting match between the managers. Ever since the first hitter of the ballgame my command wasn’t there.

A bullpen that was the weakest link last season (25 blown saves) is completely different: Its 2.67 ERA is second in the AL and the group’s 17 wins are tied for most in the league. He doesn’t need to act like that.

Maybe the Astros got persnickety after Rougned Odor tossed his bat and casually ambled towards first base after a massive 2-run home run. The Astros, trailing 5-1, had Marwin Gonzalez at first with two outs when Jose Altuve doubled to left off reliever Tanner Scheppers.

Hamilton and Robinson Chirinos also homered for Texas. After the lengthy delay, the call was upheld. The Rangers right-handerhad entered the game with 24.1 innings of scoreless baseball on the road. Hoes on a grounder back to the mound to end the threat. They fizzled against Dallas Keuchel, Houston’s All-Star left-hander, in a 10-0 loss at Minute Maid Park. That’s the second-most wins against them by any active pitcher.
