De Bruyne is expected to sign a six-year deal worth £140,000-a-week and a £45m fee will change hands.

De Bruyne has impressed since arriving in the Bundesliga from Chelsea in January 2014 and was named German Player of the Year last term.

“If in the end it happens, you cannot say that I would have lied”. “We consider every offer”.

“I think some other clubs have definitely turned Kevin’s head”, Allofs told Kicker magazine, “Some huge figures are doing the rounds and I can understand why Kevin is leaving everything open”.

The 23-year-old, who struggled to break into Chelsea’s first team under Jose Mourinho, has previously said he has had “informal contact” with City, but Wolfsburg’s Managing Director, Klaus Allofs, denied any offer had been made.

“We are waiting to discover whether any agreement has been reached between the clubs”.

Manchester City have put in a bid of £40million plus £7million in add-ons for Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin de Bruyne. He will have to listen to offers.

However, for the time being at least, De Bruyne’s agent, Patrick De Koster, insists that nothing is set in stone and there wouldn’t be a problem if his client is to stay at Wolfsburg for the forthcoming Bundesliga season.
