After Durant left at halftime Tuesday night because of his injury, Thunder teammate Russell Westbrook took over, compiling a triple-double with 22 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds to lead Oklahoma City to a 125-101 victory over the struggling Washington Wizards.

The Thunder forward strained his left hamstring in the first half against the Wizards and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Washington Wizards have lost four of their first seven games this season, are the fourth-worst rebounding team in the league, and rank 24th in net rating (clocking in at a putrid -7.1 points per 100 possessions).
On the season, Durant is averaging 28.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field and almost 45 percent from three-point territory. Marcin Gortat and Ramon Sessions tied for the team lead with 15 points, while Otto Porter and Gary Neal each added 14. I haven’t seen much of a difference.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (4-3) are coming from a 124-103 win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Wittman said his team went through the motions.
Westbrook had his sixth 10+ assist game of the season.

The Washington Wizards didn’t have any opportunity Tuesday to perform late magic against the Oklahoma City Thunder. If you give me 27 minutes on a Saturday, I’ll get you a rebound. While Westbrook is definitely a better player than Wall (sorry wiz fans, you know it’s true) the games of Durant and Wall complement each other perfectly. It’s my part of the game where I have to rebound and take that challenge. Nothing goes right for the ‘Skins, as my friend pointed out in a series of drunken texts to me in October, shortly after Kirk Cousins threw a walk-off pick six.
