Sunday night’s victory was Harvick’s second at Bristol Motor Speedway and his second of the 2016 season.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Every year Stewart-Haas Racing crew chief Rodney Childers circles the races at Bristol Motor Speedway on his calendar as the ones he especially wants to win due to his background in short-track racing. When it was all said and done almost 23 hours later on Sunday, he wound up crossing the finish line ahead of the rest of the field. “We’re three weeks from the end of the regular season, and I don’t think it could have come together at a better time”.

“The most curious thing to me is just seeing what my level of stamina is compared to the past because it’s been so long since I’ve been in a auto”, Tifft said. It also moved him atop the points standings and gave his program a jolt with only three races left until NASCARs Chase starts. We’re still able to it to go to the bottom and passengers later in runs which I thought was really good.

“I was excited that you were able to use a lot of the racetrack”, he said.

Harvick’s vehicle owner and fellow competitor, Tony Stewart, struggled in his final race at Bristol Motor Speedway, bringing home a thirtieth place finish. “I don’t know if that was from the rosin and the application or if it was from the grinding, but it seemed to get better as the race went on, on the bottom of the race track with the roughness”.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon, Chris Buescher, Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray, AJ Allmendinger, and Joey Logano rounded out the rest of the Top-10 finishers behind Harvick. However, Busch got loose in front of Logano, and contact between the two set off an 11-car incident that would see the 2004 Sprint Cup champion’s historic streak of lead-lap finishes end at 22 races, stewarthaasracing.com reports. I’m really exhausted of losing races here with parts falling apart, so they’ll hear about it on Tuesday. He also blasted Allgaier and his spotter, saying they should’ve moved clear instead of hitting him. “Frustrating day. Let’s go home”.

The incident also collected Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson and Justin Allgaier, who was filling in for Michael Annett in the No. 46 HScott Motorsports Chevrolet.

It created a Bristol that didn’t feature any classic bump-and-runs, the kind that generated excitement back in what many view as the good ol’ days.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway is back under way Sunday after a 3 1/2-hour delay because of heavy rain. Track officials applied a substance to help bring in the lower line that created an additional groove earlier in the week during the Camping World Truck Series and XFINITY Series races. That left 452 laps still to be completed when the race resumes on Sunday.

Tifft had driven in six races this year and had more races scheduled for Joe Gibbs Racing before the tumor sidelined him.

NHRA: Brittany Force earned her third Top Fuel victory this season at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, Minn. Behind them, Chase Elliott turned Matt Kenseth, who was hard on the brakes, and Ryan Blaney ended up drilling Kenseth. Brown had a 6.566 at 103.47.
