Kevin Hogan helps Stanford upset No. 6 USC

In his 25 wins, tied with Michigan State’s Connor Cook for the most among active FBS quarterbacks, Hogan is averaging 206 yards passing per game and has thrown 45 touchdown passes against 15 interceptions. I believe that it will happen because Northwestern smashed Stanford in the running game with 225 yards. The Cardinal will need a similar effort if it is going to have a chance to beat USC. Cajuste caught the ball while falling to his left before the safety could reach him. The first selected 42 outdoor areas. The second went for a 93-yard touchdown.

For Stanford, they have to play better in the red-zone, which was a disappointment last season and has been an issue in the first two games of the season.

-Sophomore RB Christian McCaffrey will have an opportunity to make his mark against USC.

Love actually carried the ball only once against the Knights, and it was unscripted. He also returns punts and kickoffs. Madden has three touchdowns, Ronald Jones II, who averages 84.5 yards a game, and Justin Davis have each scored twice.

I think USC wins this one simply because the Trojans have Cody Kessler and Stanford doesn’t. Hogan’s play should determine if the game is close or a USC blowout. Now, as USC appears to be on the verge of greatness (or, at least pretty-greatness) again, Stanford is trying to avoid a decline. JuJu Smith-Schuster continued his hot start to the year, reeling in eight passes for 153 yards and a touchdown.

“A bad play for us should be a three-yard gain, ” Shaw said. “Even when we had Andrew Luck and Chris Owusu and Coby Fleener, we take calculated shots versus specific coverages”. Coach Steve Sarkisian gave the Long Beach Poly product high marks, saying Marshall has benefited greatly from such an extensive workload.

The Cardinal is 3-2 against the Trojans in the last five meetings, games that have been decided by a total of 23 points. Many are expecting that trend to change at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night. Stanford (1-1), which dropped its opener at Northwestern before rebounding with a 31-7 victory against Central Florida, should offer the Trojans a more formidable challenge defensively.

Big stats against Idaho and Arkansas State is one thing, but delivering Heisman moments against Stanford is a much bigger task.

The sixth-ranked Trojans are going into the game as a heavy favorite.

“That’s why you love playing sports”, Kessler said of Romo’s play. Will Stanford repeat its performance from last week?

“Those who have been here a while know that there’s a way that we do this, right?” Seymour has been extremely limited this week because of a knee injury and might not be available against Stanford. The Knights had only two and were held to 181 yards.

The USC Trojans take on the Stanford Cardinal tonight in a college football schedule game between an undefeated top ten team and another team that’s looking to pull off what would be a significant upset victory.

The next chapter kicks off Pac-12 play tonight (5 p.m., ABC) at the Coliseum, where the No. 6 Trojans (2-0) will go for their third consecutive victory over the Cardinal (1-1).
