Kevin Love pens piece saying he’s staying in Cleveland

The Cavaliers lived up to their playoff catchphrase on the opening day of free agency in the National Basteball Association.

Cavaliers forward Kevin Love announced Wednesday on the Players Tribune website that he’s returning to Cleveland next season.

The Plain Dealer reported that the Cavs expect to make a maximum five-year $100 million contract to Love during the 2015 National Basteball Association off-season. No National Basteball Association contract can be signed until July 9. But that was all part of the plan when James chose to return home last summer.

Gilbert has always paid when it comes to the Cavs, and he continues to put his money where his mouth is. Having these three, Kyrie Irving and (presumably) James on the books while still having room to lure additional free agents could go a long way in determining how wide the Cavs’ window of contention truly is.

The Cavaliers have had a strong off-season so far, keeping Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson in new deals. They heard whispers of Love wanting to play on the west coast all season. We have unfinished business and now its time to get back to work.”.

Chicago moved quickly to retain two starters, receiving verbal commitments from Jimmy Butler and Mike Dunleavy. What’s interesting about that is how it effects the Cavaliers, as Thompson might see that deal and either set $85 million as the baseline for a deal or ask for more than that. LeBron James submitted a super-human effort, but without another star on the floor to share the load, the Cavaliers bowed out to the Golden State Warriors in six games.

“After Game 1 of the National Basteball Association Finals, that’s when it really struck me”, Love wrote.

Here’s a look at what else is being reported in connection with the Celtics and free agency.

Atlanta free agent DeMarre Carroll announced via social media that he will play for Toronto.

The Lakers are hoping to lure a top free agent with a portion of their $22 million in cap space.

In four playoff games, he averaged 14.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. Just as Love was figuring out how best to play with James and Irving and his team entered the postseason for the first time in his seven-year career, it all came to an end. The details of the deal haven’t been made public. A person with knowledge of the deals said Atlanta is finalizing a trade for San Antonio center Tiago Splitter.

The 6-10, 238-pounder averaged 8.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in 82 regular-season games.

Khris Middleton also received $70 million to remain in Milwaukee following his strong season.

After much speculation Kevin Love announced he had agreed to five-year contract to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers
