Kewell: Klopp can turn Liverpool into a force again

Liverpool lost Luis Suarez to Barcelona in 2014, before selling Raheem Sterling to Manchester City a year ago.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has stressed the Anfield side have no intention of selling their best players any longer.

Academy starlet Sterling joined Manchester City in a £50million deal last summer, but Klopp is eager to transform Liverpool into the destination club rather than a stepping stone to bigger things.

In seasons gone by, the Reds have also lost the likes of Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano. “That was 13 years ago, and they’re still waiting”, he said.”I think what Jurgen brings to the table in terms of that passion, desire and knowledge can make the difference”. “That’s very important”, Klopp told Liverpool Echo.

“If you play for Liverpool the target always has to be winning titles and it will be the same next season”.

“For me, it’s very important to have the trust of the manager, and I have his trust”, Can added.

‘We say that same squad and consistency creates success’.

“You have to create a situation where you are successful”.

“A situation where everyone feels in a good way and we are strong enough and patient enough to keep them together”.

“I can say I am a leader but you have to show it”. We actually didn’t change too much but we have seven new players here. Both statements are true.

“We’ve kept all of our key players and gave a few of our big talents the opportunity to play somewhere else because of the education they had at Liverpool”, he continued. The club continue to be linked with a host of stars, and as we near the start of the Premier League season numerous deals appear to be coming into clear view.
