The global roll out of the new Windows 10 based dashboard for the Xbox One console has begun today and will be a mandatory update for all Xbox One consoles on 23 November.

The bad news for those looking forward to playing their Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One, while the update for the New Xbox One Experience is set to begin at 8:01pm, Backwards Compatibility isn’t set to actually become playable until 3:01pm ET/ 12:01pm PT, which is 8:01pm GMT. The update is a big one as it changes the look of the UI and brings a lot of other new features too. The result of using the external hard drives was improved performance of the game, a reduction of stutter, and no more drops to 0 fps.
The first thing you’ll spot when loading up the new dashboard is the overhauled Home screen. You can even enjoy multiplayer with friends playing Backward Compatible titles on Xbox 360. Not all users globally will experience the update at the same time. Wait 15 seconds, power your Xbox One up again and you should be good.

Microsoft has acknowledged many of these problems on a dedicated support page and given advice about how to troubleshoot and fix them. While we’ll be getting an improved dashboard and faster navigation, backwards compatibility is easily the biggest new feature, making it possible to play 104 Xbox 360 games on the One console – and with more to be added each month.
