Khizr And Ghazala Khan Respond To Trump’s Criticism
He slammed Trump’s suggestion that his wife, who was also on stage at the DNC, was not allowed to speak. The Trump and Clinton campaigns are going to play political football, ripping open this family’s wound in back and forth all in the name of political gain. Trump and his advisers tried repeatedly to change the subject to Islamic terrorism, to no avail. “And I address – which my wife asked me to not include those things, but this is the time to say those things I wanted to address, and I address them now”, he said. Trump had tweeted. “Hillary voted for the Iraq war, not me!”

Referring to this episode, Clinton, while addressing a church service in OH, said that Trump had been insulting to a family who had sacrificed so much for America. “That’s what I said!” Khizr Khan gave a speech in which he called Trump’s proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the US “unconstitutional”, while making the dramatic gesture of pulling a copy of the Constitution from his pocket and asking Trump directly: “Have you even read the United States Constitution?” “Yet he comes back again on the same thing”, Khan said.
“All the world, all America, felt my pain”.
Khizr Khan defended his wife Sunday, telling CNN that she is ill, has high blood pressure and can not keep herself together when she sees images of her son.
“Her being there was the strength that I could hold my composure”, he said.
Republican strategist Ana Navarro said Mr Trump’s comments about the Khans were “gross”.
The NFL denied sending a letter, and Trump’s campaign later conceded to ABC that he had not, in fact, received a letter.
Republican also tore into the Republican presidential hopeful, with Sen.
“What he said originally – that defines him”.
Trump has downplayed the idea in recent weeks as he attempts to win over swing voters for the general election, but he has never disavowed his plan for a religious test. Trump has responded since then by calling into question Khan’s mother’s agency and suggesting that he, too, has made “sacrifices” like those of the Khan family. He offered his work building a business as an example of his sacrifice. “Walking onto the convention stage, with a huge picture of my son behind me, I could hardly control myself. I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs”, the real estate magnate said, describing how his efforts to help and honour military veterans.
In a statement, Senate Republican leader McConnell called Humayun Khan “an American hero”, praised the sacrifices of families like the Khans, and said he agreed with them that “a travel ban on all members of a religion is simply contrary to American values”.
House speaker Paul Ryan issued a statement Sunday afternoon. And he continued to complain that Khan had been unfair to him.
Humayun Khan, an army captain and son of Muslim immigrants, died while fighting in Iraq 12 years ago.
The letter, published Monday on VoteVets.org, comes amid a chorus of criticism in response to Trump’s burgeoning feud with the Khan family, which began after Khizr Khan, the father of slain Army Cpt. One of his sons is a Marine.
A few other prominent Republicans and national security leaders have spoken out, however, expressing dismay.
“For this candidate for presidency to not be aware of the respect of a Gold Star mother standing there, and he had to take that shot at her, this is height of ignorance”, Khan said, referring to parents of troops who are killed serving their country.

Trump was taken aback by the uproar, believing he was attacked first by Khan, according to a person familiar with the candidate’s thinking who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about private conversations.
