Kids say at least two clowns chased them from Georgia bus stop
“Tonight we’ve received several calls about clowns in a van and in wooded areas trying to talk to children”, LaGrange, Georgia police posted on Facebook. Smith says 26-year-old Brandon Jerome Moody admitted he called 911 about seeing clowns hanging around a white van on Hammett Road.

Police Lt. Dale Strickland said it all started when a concerned resident reached out to authorities via Facebook to alert them about a unusual Facebook account.
Although it isn’t illegal to dress up as a clown in most states, it’s against the law to lure minors away, to terrorize people, or to chase anyone with a knife. Authorities have determined some of those cases are unfounded. He then advised Rebecca Moody to call 911 and make the same report, even though she was not in the area at the time. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article. Alleged clown sightings have also been reported in North Carolina, but have either been debunked or linked to teen pranksters.
Local police did not see the amusing side, posting on Facebook that the behaviour is neither “cute or funny” and those found responsible “may face criminal charges”.
Brooks added “we could only see part of them because they were parked to the back of us … you could see the big hair”.
“We’d like to find out who they are because we don’t want them giving small children impressions that clowns are scary”, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Lt.
It’s beginning to feel a little like an epidemic we were warned about throughout the ’90s, but no one really thought it would ever come to fruition. “And, if applicable, you may face criminal charges”, the LaGrange Police Department posted to their Facebook page on Monday. The first reported threatening clown sighting in SC was reported in late August.
Children in Greenville say clowns were wandering around an apartment complex and trying to lure them into the nearby woods.
The police chief there says several people have said they’ve seen clowns.

Children who initially reported seeing the clowns told police that the colorfully-dressed characters “stay in a house located near a pond at the end of a man-made trail in the woods”, according to a police report.
