Killed in Rain-Related Incidents in Rajasthan, Army Deployed
Seven persons died in rain related incidents in Rajasthan on Tuesday even as heavy showers affected normal life in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Pali districts where Army has been deployed for relief and rescue work.

Six children were among the seven persons killed. Jalore also received heavy rains to the tune of 133 mm, Mount Abu 168 mm and Bundi recorded 40 mm of rainfall.
Menal and Brahmani rivers in the district are over flowing following incessant rain in the areas. Relief Secretary Rohit Kumar said, besides Army and local police, teams of NDRF, SDRF, Rajasthan Armed Constabulary are in Bhilwara, Pali and Chittorgarh. The district administrations have directed people in low-lying areas to move to safer places. Several places in Chandigarh and Mohali witnessed power outage for several hours, causing inconvenience to people.
Heavy rains occurred in Mandalgarh and nearby areas in Bhilwara while places which are located near the catchment area of Banas river are affected due to increase in the water level.
In Bhilwara, Mandalgarh recorded 18 cm rain followed by Pali which received 20 cm of rainfall. “The assessment of losses is being done and the state government will, under norms, provide help and assistance to the affected families”, said Prakash Chand, in-charge of the control room set up to oversee operations in Bhilwara.
Heavy rains lashed national capital towards the evening leading to traffic snarls and high relative humidity.

Jodhpur recorded maximum of 153.6 mm rainfall while Ajmer, Kota, Barmer, Dabok and Churu received 12, 9, 7.4, 2.2 and 0.2 mm of rain respectively, the Met department.
