Killer Athlete Oscar Pistorius Might Be Leaving Prison Today
This is exactly two months after Pistorius was initially due to be released, after serving 10 months of his five year jail term for culpable homicide following the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

This comes after the parole review board (PRB) referred the matter back to them on Monday, stating Justice Minister Michael Masutha had acted correctly in putting the brakes on Pistorius being released in August, News24 reported.
South Africa’s Department of Correctional Services tested that in fact Oscar Pistorius’s use to sit underneath correctional control will certainly be listened now.
If the parole board decides that he is eligible for release under house arrest, it is possible that Pistorius could leave jail as early as today.
“It has been postponed till October 21”. South African media stated the rationale for the postponement was so Steenkamp’s family might present submissions.
Brian Webber, a lawyer representing Pistorius, told AFP that he was hopeful that Pistorius could even be released by the end of the day. “I haven’t been given the official cause for this”, family spokeswoman Anneliese Burgess stated. Pistorius, the first double amputee to compete at an Olympic Games, fired four bullets through a locked toilet door, killing Steenkamp in the early hours of February 14, 2013.
A champion Paralympian, Pistorius, known as the “Blade Runner” for the prosthetic legs he wore on the track, shot to fame when he raced against able-bodied competitors in the 2012 London Olympics.

He was accused of firing a gun through the sunroof of an ex-girlfriend’s moving vehicle in 2011 and, weeks before he shot Steenkamp, he accidentally discharged a gun at a Johannesburg restaurant.
