Killer Mike is facing heavy criticism after his appearance at a rally for Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders at Morehouse College in Atlanta yesterday (February 16.) The Atlanta native introduced Sanders and during his intro, explained why Hillary Clinton’s approach to race issues has contributed to his decision to not support her in her bid for the presidency. Render called Elliott, who is famous for the “blue eyes/brown eyes” experiments which divided a classroom based on eye color and gave one group more privileges, one of his “greatest teachers”. During his impassioned speech, Mike quoted noted anti-racist, feminist and LGBT activist Jane Elliott regarding Clinton’s presented policies and his use of the word “uterus” drew backlash.
The rapper said the Vermont Senator is the only candidate whose social policy lines up with Martin Luther King Jr.’s focus on the poor minorities.
Clinton’s campaign has said the comments ignored the former secretary of state’s lifetime of work breaking down barriers.
As I’ve pointed out over and over, the Clinton campaign wants to make every critic of hers into a sexist so they can pretend all attacks on her are sexist attacks.
A few minutes later, Killer Mike tweeted, “So Women are being told to not vote Hillary is sex betrayal & Becuz another progressive woman says something disagreeing I’m sexist”.
The rapper also said he would vote for a number of women to lead the country, but he would not vote for Clinton.
“I wud gladly see Anyone who can lead this country on behalf of the worker lead”. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), among others.
