Kim Davis to attend President Obama’s final State of the Union address

“Seven years of progress, we have 94 million people out of work, 48 million people on food stamps and we have a health care system that’s driven up the cost of deductibles [and] premiums”, said Jordan.

Kim Davis’ appearance at President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union address on Tuesday night drew attention across the digital stratosphere, from a report counting how many times she clapped to mean-spirited tweets about her attire.

After the president’s speech, Davis was asked about her attendance by Ivan Couronne of the AFP.

“Our office was approached by the Family Research Council”.

Davis’ lawyer, Mat Staver, announced Tuesday that the two would be attending the address, although for a time it was unclear how they procured such an invitation.

In his speech, Obama addressed marriage equality as a product of American diversity and commitment to the rule of law – something that he said is needed for a prosperous future. After he checked with his communications director, however, he corrected himself: “At the request of the Family Research Council, we gave the ticket to Kim Davis” family”, he said, adding: “I found out today. “She said we know, not we speculate, we think, we know it was a terrorist attack, not anything to do with a video”.

The news of Davis attending the State of the Union was something of a surprise and a mystery.

First lady Michelle Obama invited Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in the case in which the Supreme Court effectively legalized gay marriage across the nation. When the President praised how America had “secured the freedom in every state to marry the person we love”, Kim was shown not to applaud.

During her legal ordeal, the longtime Democrat also became a Republican, saying her “party left me”, according to Liberty Counsel spokeswoman Charla Bansley.

“Religious liberty has been trashed under his administration”, Staver said.
