Kim Kardashian New York Times Ad Slams Deniers Of Armenian Genocide
The Turkic Platform, the group that paid for the Journal ad, rejects the idea that the killing of up to 1.5 million Armenians in 1915 – which was carried out by the Ottoman government – constitutes “genocide“, The New York Daily News reported. “If this had been an ad denying the Holocaust, or pushing some 9/11 conspiracy theory, would it have made it to print?”

“Lies make good headlines, good headlines make great covers, great covers sell magazines”, Kardashian-West wrote.
Kardashian’s signature marks the bottom of her ad, followed by a statement from the Armenian Community expressing thanks to the reality star for her support in raising awareness to such denial. She called for Turkey to be held accountable for the Ottoman government’s actions, and urged the USA government to recognize the genocide.
“We must talk about it until it is recognized by our government because when we deny our past, we endanger our future”, she implored.
This time, the thing in her crosshairs is the Wall Street Journal. But she couldn’t just brush off the WSJ’s decision to publish an ad effectively denying that almost 1.5 million Armenians were murdered over the course of a year (from 1915 to 1916) by the Ottoman government. But when I heard about this full-page ad that ran in the Wall Street Journal denying the Armenian genocide, I couldn’t just brush it off. The Kardashian family, who are of Armenian descent, has called for recognition of the genocide in the past.

Check out Kim’s ad over at Page Six. She also added that the paper’s decision to run the advert in April was “reckless” and “morally irresponsible“, arguing that the publication was “spreading lies”. She’s advocated unsuccessfully for President Barack Obama to use the word “genocide” in reference to the massacre and frequently shares reminders of the conflict on her vast social feeds.
